Medicine Hat became the final municipality to pass an amendment to the Tri-Area Intermunicipal Development Plan that would see area along the Bullshead Creek rezoned for the expansion of a gravel pit.
Redcliff Town Council and Cypress County Council had previously agreed to the changes.
The enterprise now goes before the Cypress County planning board for final approval.
Jeffrey Dowling, Cypress County Planning Advisor, said that if everything goes smoothly, the whole process could take a couple months.
Chances of everything happening in perfect succession is up to South Rock Ltd., and depends on how fast they send in the final request, to County, to change the land to sand and gravel extraction.
Dowling said more would be discussed at the next couple of County Council meetings.
