It seems after a few days at home the excitement of summer holidays wear off and the inevitable phrase of ‘I’m bored, mom’ is uttered by youth everywhere. This year Bow Island has a lot of summer fun to offer youth ready for some new adventures, including a program through FCSS headed up by Jen Krooshoop at the Community Resource Centre.
The program starts on July 6. Registrations should be in by July 2 but late registrations will be accepted. The fun events kick off on July 6 with a tie dye event and continues throughout the summer with some great things planned for the afternoons, from alternate Frisbee to mini-golf and a trip to Forty Mile Dam. The outdoor fun is planned to take place between 2 and 3 to 3:30 p.m. most afternoons with two major events planned. One is the annual white water rafting trip on July 23 and the other is a dinner, movie and the corn maze on July 24. Anyone interested in taking part can contact Jen Krooshoop at the Community Resource Centre at 403-545-6222. The program costs $30, however subsidies are available if needed. |
