By Jamie Rieger Mould found in the dialysis unit at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital has not been disrupting treatments for patients and a cleaning company specializing in mould clean-up has been brougt in.While water stains on the ceiling show water leakage from above, mould was found inside a drywall barrier, as well as behind the baseboard in the office area of the unit which is located in the older section of the hospital. Linda Iwasiw, vice-resident of MHRH said the unit would not be closed, no patient scheduling has been disrupted and only one administrative employee was moved while the clean-up was being conducted. Air quality tests were conducted and the results are expected to be complete early this week. It is unknown how long it would take for the clean-up process to take. |
