About Us

The Commentator is a community newspaper published every Tuesday by the Alberta Newspaper Group. Besides The Commentator, this group includes four other community newspapers in Southern Alberta, the Taber Times, the Coaldale Sunny South News, the Vauxhall Advance and the Lethbridge Sun Times; two daily newspapers, the Lethbridge Herald and the Medicine Hat News and a specialty farm publication, the Prairie Post. With a paid, weekly circulation of 5,720. The Commentator serves the County of Forty Mile, Cypress County, the Town of Redcliff, the communities of Bow Island, Burdett, and Foremost and the many hamlets in southeastern Alberta. The Commentator strives to present an accurate and interesting reflection of community affairs and a forum for public opinion. Market surveys have show high readership levels as local residents tend to take an avid interest in the affairs of the community. The Commentator is a member of the Alberta Weekly Newspaper Association and the Canadian Community Newspaper Association.
