Helen Hartley was a guest speaker at the ninth annual Chinook Constituency Conference held in Burdett this year with ‘Together We Can’ as its theme.
Hartley spoke first at 10:30, giving a speech entitled Together We Can Climb Mountains. Later, at 11:15 she hosted a discussion on finding solutions to the issues that faces the Women’s Institute organizations of today.

When people say Travis Jassman’s got skills, they are not kidding.
The Grade 12 Senator Gershaw student took home a silver medal at the fifth annual Southeast Alberta Regional Skills Canada Competition held April 29th in Medicine Hat.
Jassman’s particular skill is carpentry.

Residents in southeast Alberta who are seeking detox and treatment for addictions may soon have a facility in Medicine Hat where they will be able to get the help they need.
Last Monday, Alberta Health Minister Gene Zwozdesky, Medicine Hat MLA Rob Renner, and Infrastructure Minister Ray Danyluk toured a building on Cuyler Road to determine if it would be an adequate facility for a detox centre.
